As The Vice President, Business Development you will be responsible for establishing and executing on the company’s Sales strategy by developing effective processes to manage sales and related activities from prospect identification through to contract signature and long-term account management.  You will be accountable for achieving the company annual gross sales goals as laid out by the Chief Commercial Officer.

Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
  • Provide a primary interface between the BD department and the rest of the business. 
  • Own the KPI objectives for the BD department and provide input for the corporate Performance Review and Management System. 
  • Set objectives and strategies for the BD department. 
  • Establish individual BD Executive Quotas and oversee the development of sales territory plans to deliver on the Quotas. 
  • Manage the BD budget including Travel and Expenses for Bid Defense Meetings, Conferences, etc. 
  • Participate in and make recommendations on partner/vendor evaluations. 
  • Support and mentor the BD Team to ensure that sound opportunity specific sales plans are developed. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 
  • Apply exceptional management and coaching skills to develop the BD team.
  • Other duties as required. 
Supervisory Requirements/Responsibilities: Position will have management responsibilities.  Development, oversight, and direction of departmental staff which may include interviewing, terminations, training, personal growth, retention plans, coaching/performance management, goal setting, and salary.

Education: 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (advance and/or health care related degree preferred; M.S., B.S.N, R.Ph, Pharm D., preferred).
Experience:
  • 10+ years of relevant industry sales experience, and 3+ years of directly managing field teams of 5 or more people.

Required Skills:
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical drug development process.
  • Experience in Clinical Operations and/or biometrics and/or medical and safety solutions, with deep understanding of operational requirements and budget drivers; ability to translate and communicate customer needs and Catalyst solutions in detail.
  • Comfortable conversing with all levels of an organization, including executive business decision makers.
  • Successful at distilling technical features into compelling business benefits.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
